E-voting systems suck. This article suggests that the reason is a paradox. That the companies that make them don't want "security experts" to examine the systems because said experts might leak the vulnerabilities, causing them to not be secure. California legislature is pushing to solve this problem by requiring that teams of experts try their hand at hacking the systems so that they may be improved.
